Frequently asked questions
Is using an auto clicker in Runescape bannable?
Yes. Both OSRS and RS3 Terms of Service prohibit all macros and auto clickers. Jagex issues permanent bans for confirmed macro use. The risk varies by skill and CPS — high-frequency uniform clicking is detected fastest.
What CPS is safe in OSRS?
No CPS is officially “safe” since all macro use violates ToS. Pragmatically, 1–2 CPS with randomised intervals on AFK-designed skills (woodcutting, fishing, mining) carries the lowest detection risk because it mirrors natural human behaviour.
Does Jagex detect OP Auto Clicker?
Jagex detects patterns, not specific software. A uniform 100 CPS pattern is trivially detectable. A 1–2 CPS pattern with variance is much harder to distinguish from a player who clicks slowly and consistently. The software matters far less than the pattern.
Can I AFK fish or woodcut with an auto clicker?
Fishing and woodcutting are the most AFK-friendly skills — the game expects long gaps between actions as catches and chops complete. Setting 1–2 CPS with interval randomisation is the lowest-risk setup for these skills.
What is the penalty for botting in Runescape?
Jagex’s standard penalty for confirmed macro use is a permanent ban. First offences on accounts with no prior history may receive a 2-day mute or temporary ban, but repeat or flagrant botting results in a permanent account ban with no appeal.
