Auto Clicker for Idle Games — Best Settings

Idle games are the genre auto-clickers were made for — click the same button millions of times for prestige resets, currency farming, and offline progress. OP Auto Clicker handles the entire idle-game catalog: Cookie Clicker, Clicker Heroes, AdVenture Capitalist, Realm Grinder, Idle Champions, and the long tail of Steam idle clickers. Here's the optimal CPS for each major idle game, plus overnight-farming setups that survive 12+ hour sessions without drift.

What is the best auto clicker for idle games?

OP Auto Clicker is the standard free auto clicker for idle/clicker games on Windows because it does the three things idle games need: fixed-position clicking (lock to a single button), high sustained CPS (100+ CPS for prestige farming), and a global hotkey for instant pause when you need to buy upgrades or activate spells. Idle games almost never have anti-cheat — the genre is designed around clicking, automating it doesn't break balance. OP Auto Clicker uses ~5 MB RAM and runs reliably for 12+ hour overnight sessions. Setup is identical for every idle game: launch the game in windowed mode, set OP Auto Clicker interval to the recommended CPS for that game, click Pick location on the click button, press F6.

How to set up OP Auto Clicker for any idle game

Same five steps work for every idle game on Windows.

  1. 1

    Launch in windowed mode

Set the idle game to windowed or borderless windowed — not exclusive full-screen. OP Auto Clicker can't reach apps in exclusive full-screen mode.

  2. 2

    Open OP Auto Clicker

Run the 512 KB .exe. No installer. Set Click type: Left, Single.

  3. 3

    Set the interval

Use the table above for your specific idle game. When in doubt, start at 10 ms (100 CPS) and adjust based on game responsiveness.

  4. 4

    Pick the click button

Click Pick location, then click on the idle game's click button (Big Cookie, hero attack zone, etc.). The clicker locks to that exact pixel.

  5. 5

    Press F6 and walk away

Tab to the game window, press F6. The game gets hammered. Press F6 again when you need to buy upgrades or shop.

Overnight tips

Running idle games overnight without losing progress

💤

Disable Windows Sleep

Settings → System → Power → Screen and sleep → set both to Never. Otherwise Windows sleeps the PC after 30 min and pauses the game.

📊

Test 30 minutes first

Before committing to an overnight session, do a 30-min trial with the same settings. Watch for game crashes, save issues, or position drift. Catch problems before you lose 8 hours.

💾

Cloud-save before starting

For Steam idle games, force a manual cloud save (Steam menu → sync) right before starting OP Auto Clicker. If anything crashes, you have a recent restore point.

🔌

Keep the game window focused

OP Auto Clicker fires clicks at the screen pixel, not into the game directly. If another window pops up overnight (Windows Update notification, Steam dialog), clicks land on it instead. Disable notifications during the run.

Run on a low-power profile

For 12-hour runs, switch Windows to Power Saver mode. The game still runs at full speed but the GPU and CPU throttle when idle, cutting electricity cost and heat.

🎮

Pause during prestige

Most idle games have a prestige/reset button that wipes progress. F6 to pause OP Auto Clicker before clicking near prestige — a stray auto-click on the wrong button can cost hours of progress.

Common questions

Idle games auto clicker — common questions

OP Auto Clicker is the most popular free choice for idle/clicker games on Windows. It supports fixed-position clicking (essential for idle games where the click target is a single button), reaches 100+ CPS for prestige reset farming, and the F6 hotkey toggles instantly. Specifically tested with Cookie Clicker, Clicker Heroes, AdVenture Capitalist, Realm Grinder, and most Steam idle games.

Almost never. Idle/clicker games typically have no anti-cheat — the genre is designed around clicking, automating it doesn't violate game balance the way it would in PvP. Cookie Clicker (browser + Steam), Clicker Heroes, AdVenture Capitalist, Realm Grinder, and most Steam idle games allow auto-clicking. Steam achievements still trigger normally.

Cookie Clicker has no internal cap. 1ms interval (1000+ CPS theoretical, ~250 CPS effective) is best during Click frenzies and Cookie Storms. 10ms (100 CPS) is sufficient outside frenzies — faster wastes CPU. See our dedicated Cookie Clicker auto clicker guide.

Yes. OP Auto Clicker uses ~5 MB RAM and has zero memory leaks — tested for 12+ hour overnight sessions without issues. Disable Windows Sleep mode (Settings → System → Power) before starting an overnight idle session, otherwise Windows pauses the game when the screen sleeps.

Cookie Clicker (highest reward for sustained CPS), Clicker Heroes (auto-click during prestige resets), AdVenture Capitalist (manual angel investor portion benefits), Realm Grinder (faction missions), Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms (Steam version), Tap Titans 2 (PC version), Crusaders of the Lost Idols. Avoid auto-clicking on idle games with multiplayer rankings.
