Click Speed Test — Free CPS Tester

A click speed test measures your clicks per second (CPS) across a fixed time window. Our free tester runs 1-, 5-, 10-, 30-, and 60-second variants in your browser. Instant results, no signup, no data leaves your device. The average user scores 4–7 CPS; trained jitter clickers hit 12–14 CPS.

Average CPS scores across every skill level and technique.

What is a click speed test?

A click speed test is a browser tool that counts how many times you click your mouse in a fixed duration, then reports your rate as clicks per second (CPS). Standard durations are 1, 5, 10, 30, and 60 seconds. Different durations measure different skills: short tests (1–5 s) reward peak burst speed; longer tests (30–60 s) reward endurance and rule out unsustainable techniques. The 5-second Kohi test became the de-facto standard in competitive Minecraft PvP because it matches typical combat exchange length. The 10-second test is the general competition standard used on cpstest.org and similar sites. Average untrained users score 4–7 CPS. Practiced regular clickers reach 8–10 CPS. Jitter clickers sustain 10–14 CPS. Butterfly clickers reach 15–22 CPS in bursts. Beyond 25 CPS sustained is nearly always software-assisted (auto clicker). Our tester captures every mousedown event at browser resolution and posts your result instantly.

Tips

How to improve your click speed

Warm up 30 seconds

Stretch fingers, shake hand, do 10 light warm-up clicks. Cold hands click 20% slower.

👍

Use claw grip

Wrist rests on desk, finger curled tight over the button. Reduces travel per click.

Learn jitter clicking

Forearm tension vibrates the finger. Bumps most users from 8 to 12–14 CPS in 2–4 weeks.

🕑

Practice consistently

Three 10-second sessions per day. Track your best score weekly.

Common questions

Click speed test — common questions

A click speed test measures how many times you can click your mouse in a fixed time window (typically 5 or 10 seconds) and reports your clicks per second (CPS). Standard test for Minecraft PvP players, Roblox clicker sim players, and idle-game enthusiasts.

Average is 4–7 CPS. Above 8 CPS is practiced. Above 12 CPS usually means jitter clicking (competitive Minecraft PvP tier). Above 20 CPS means butterfly clicking. Above 30 CPS sustained usually means software assistance.

5 seconds for peak burst (Minecraft PvP standard), 10 seconds for balanced measurement (general standard), 30–60 seconds for endurance testing. Beginners: start with 10 seconds.

Yes but scores are 20–40% lower than desktop mouse scores. Touchscreen tap has longer contact time than mouse switch actuation, capping practical tap rate around 8–10 taps per second.

Browser-based tests count mousedown events at millisecond precision — accurate to within 1–2 CPS. Sources of error: browser tab throttling (keep tab focused), mouse polling rate (higher = more accurate), and hardware debounce filters. Gaming mice at 1000 Hz produce the most accurate scores.
